Abstrakt: Examines the patterns of expression of chemokine receptors that might be associated with atopic dermatitis (AD). Comparison of relative levels of messenger RNA for CCR3, CCR4, CCR5, CXCR3, interleukin-4, and interferon-&gamma in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from atopic patients, non-atopic patients with eosinophilia, psoriatic patients, and health controls; Detection of decreased levels of CXCR3 transcripts in PBMC from patients with AD and with cutaneous diseases associated with eosinophilia; Link between an imbalance in the expression of certain chemokine receptors and the pathogenesis of AD and various other skin diseases with eosinophilia.
