Abstrakt: Derivatives of sydnone imine, a mesoionic heterocyclic compound, have been shown to stimulate the growth of corn, sunflower, and winter wheat in vegetation experiments. A presowing seed treatment with sydnone imine derivatives bearing a hydroxy(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)methyl group at the C(4) position at a dosage of 0.5–5.0 g/t of seeds increases the weight of the aboveground parts of plants by 37–53% compared to the control. The growth-stimulating effect of these compounds is dose-dependent and affected by the substituents at the N(3) and N6 positions of a sydnone imine molecule. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
