The article describes the case of a 2-year-old boy who presented to a hospital with a chief complaint that included the development of new onset weakness in the lower extremities over 1-week duration. Topics covered include the medical and surgical history of the patient, the findings of the physical and laboratory examinations which led to the diagnosis of scurvy, and patient outcome following ascorbic acid treatment. |
