Abstrakt: The World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus as a global pandemic. With the situation of Covid-19 pandemic which caused lock down of all educational institutions, a need rises to adopt analytical or theoretical approaches to carrying out studies and researches. Foamed concrete is characterized by its high porosity due to an existence of entrained air pores compared to normal weight concrete. The entrained pore structure of foamed (cellular) concrete greatly affects its properties. Therefore, an Image processing software (ImageJ) was adopted to calculate the total porosity by analyzing captured pictures of samples. It was found that the calculated results are strongly correlated with the measured ones. In addition, similar and close trend was observed for the relationships of both water absorption (linear) and strength (power) with both calculated and measured porosity values. This indicates that water absorption and strength of foamed concrete can be predicted by knowing calculated porosity value (from analytical approach) without a need to test them in a laboratory.
