Construction industry suffers with frequent problems to improve its performance which among others are productivity and workmanship performance. This includes Industrialised Building System (IBS) construction method which frequently faced with the problem of workmanship performance during its installation. Thus, this study identifies the major factors that influence the workmanship performance of IBS during installation and its impact to contractor. This study involves respondents from Contractor Grade G7 whom have the vast experience with IBS construction project. The public school projects using IBS method with similar scope of work were selected for this study. Questionnaire survey with random sampling method was conducted in this study, and the findings indicates that the top five influence factors of workmanship performance of IBS during installation are unsuitable construction equipment; unsuitable construction materials; miscommunication among project teams; poor coordination; and labours' negligence. In addition, the findings established a significant relationship between unsuitable construction equipment that leads to project disputes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
