Interactive magnetic field simulation of a pipeline element.

Abstrakt: Mapping pipelines, bends and branches is possible using high-precision magnetic survey. Using a highly sensitive magnetometer MMPOS, we measured magnetic field from an iron cylinder. The field was approximated by analytical models: a dipole, a rod, a parallelepiped, and a surface model, a set of triangles. We performed a comparison of the experimental result and the field of the models. The Matlab code was developed to visualize the anomalous magnetic field and its analytical signal from sequential approximations of a pipe to optimize the placement of sensors of multi- sensor magnetometric devices.
