The objective was to evaluate the production and nutritional value of Urochloa ruziziensis, in response to maintenance fertilization with liquid swine slurry (LSS). The design was in randomized blocks with five treatments, four doses of LSS (0, 120, 240, and 360 m3 ha−1 plotted in 0, 30, 60, and 90 m3 ha−1 per cut, respectively) and mineral fertilization (200 kg ha−1 N in four applications of 50 kg ha−1). Vegetative and nutritive characteristics of the plants were evaluated. The 360 m3 ha−1 dose showed results equal to mineral fertilization in most of the studied variables. The emission index decreased 34% in relation to the control with the application of 90 m3 ha−1 of LSS in the soil. In the neutral and acid detergent fiber (NDF and ADF) variables, there was no difference between the doses of LSS and the mineral dose. The increments in the comparison between doses were plant height (39%), crude protein (15%), extractions of N (140%), P (153%), K (147%), Ca (89%), Mg (110%), S (107%), Fe (119%), Zn (104%), Mn (106%), and Cu (101%). The dose of 90 m3 ha−1 of LSS by cut promoted an increase in dry matter yield and crude protein content, without altering NDF and ADF, in addition to linearly increasing macro and micronutrients in Urochloa ruziziensis.
