Abstrakt: The article presents the debate on the autochthonous ability of the EU for feeding the entire population. Topics include food resources obtained directly or indirectly from the use of photosynthesis and energy suitable to be consumed by the population; and percentage of domestic food waste generated in EU countries, as well as the losses produced throughout the distribution chain from farm to fork.
