The article evaluates the data on the effect of herbicides during their pre-emergence and post-emergence application on soil moisture, seed germination of test crops and sunflower, and also on the structure of the yield and productivity of sunflower. It's shown that the lowest moisture content in the soil from germination to flowering of sunflower was in the variant without the introduction of herbicides both in the surface and in the meter layer of the soil. Soil treatment with herbicide Prometryn helps to reduce weediness of crops by 5.2 times at the flowering phase, and by 3.5 times more control up to full ripeness. The post-emergence application of Tribenuron-methyl reduces contamination by 9 and 5 times, respectively. The decrease in the wet weight of weeds for sunflower harvesting due to the protection of crops with herbicides was 17-51 times, and the dry weight - 17-47 times compared with the option without treatment. Herbicidal protection of sunflower helps to increase the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the structure of the crop and the yield of sunflower. The highest biological yield of sunflower was observed when the post-emergence herbicide Tribenuron-methyl was applied during the growing season - 2.98 t / ha, which significantly exceeds the variant with the soil herbicide Prometryn and control.
