Productivity, dynamics of morphological and physiological-biochemical parameters of different potato varieties in conditions of middle volga steppe zone.

Abstrakt: The morphological and physiological-biochemical properties of the mid-season-ripening potato variety Siversky and the middle-early variety Tretyakovka in the steppe zone of the Middle Volga region was studied. The research work was carried out at the experimental plot of the Samara Scientific Research Agriculture Institute, a branch of the Samara Federal Research Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The yield of the Siversky variety was 1.6 times higher than the Tretyakovka variety. Regarding the morphological characteristics, a large number of stems and an increased aboveground mass gain distinguished the Siversky variety. According to physiological and biochemical parameters, it was characterized by a high content of photosynthetic pigments, a wider protein and lipid metabolism variability, as well as more intensive oxidation and protection processes, which can be the key to its higher productivity.
