Abstrakt: Under the gas-dynamic effect of a jet of shielding gas on the dynamics of the weld pool metal, two aspects are considered and taken into account. Firstly, the direct action of a jet of active shielding gas on the liquid metal of the pool around the welding arc. Secondly, the effect of a jet of shielding gas on a drop of electrode metal and the welding arc. It was found that there is an increase in the transfer frequency of electrode metal droplets and a decrease in the droplet size. This leads to an increase in the total surface activity of drops and a decrease in the time the drop remains in a superheated state. These facts affect the hydrodynamic and metallurgical processes in the weld pool, which directly affects the chemical composition and structure of the weld metal, as well as the shape and structure of the fusion line.
