People-government relations are closely intertwined and reciprocal. The phrase "rakyat dan raja berpisahtiada" indicates the closeness of the two groups. The narrative of the government and the people is widely seen in the pedagogical literature. But this study looks at the extent to which the public views the government through the eyes of the people through the literature of the people. People's literature is a document of society and is one of the mediums in looking at the environment that influences the relationship between the people and the government. Issues involving public and government relations are one of the long-term issues affecting the country's harmony and well-being. Thus, an active and positive response between the people and the government helps to maintain the social system of a society. As such, this study draws on two main objectives, namely, identifying the relationship between the people and the government in Pahang oral stories, and analyzing the impact of reciprocal relationships between leaders and people in oral tradition based on Theory of Leadership Northouse's (2013). This text analysis study examines the folklore of Pahang's Zakaria Hitam collection by looking at the relationship between people and leaders in the context of leadership. The findings show that the influence of traditional leadership has a reciprocal effect on the relationship between the people and the government, which in turn influences the social structure of society. In conclusion, leaders and citizens need each other in ensuring the survivaland the harmony of the nation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
