Abstrakt: The contact phenomena and temperature fields are analyzed, and the dependence of the temperature change on the cutting speed is determined during finish turning of a VT1-0 titanium alloy with a cutter equipped with a diamond carbide blade. New calculated and experimental data on the cutting temperature allow one to rationally set the cutting conditions in order to limit the temperature to 700°C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
