On 17 March 2020, in response to the rising number of cases of COVID 19 threatening to overwhelm its healthcare system, the French government under Emmanuel Macron ordered France into one of the most restrictive sanitary lockdowns of the European Union. As a Parisian resident for over thirty years and a French citizen since 2000, I found myself in the middle of this unprecedented experience.
