Abstrakt: |
Aim: The aim is to determine the effectiveness of Pedometry along with Conventional Physiotherapy for COPD patients. Procedure: Total of 30 subjects were selected using convenient sampling technique based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria .The study will be explained to the patients and written consent will be obtained from the subjects .Subjects will be allocated in two groups using convenient method of sampling. Group A (Control group) (n=15) will be treated with Diaphragmatic breathing exercise and thoracic mobility exercises. (Pulmonary rehabilitation) Group B (Experimental group) (n=15) will be treated with Conventional Physiotherapy followed by Pedometry. The study was done in Saveetha Medical College and hospital in the Physiotherapy In-patient & Out- patient department, 30 subjects of both male and female will be selected on basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria using convenient sampling method Results: Statistical analysis was carried out on basis of comparison between the two groups results obtained using the outcome measure and calculated using unpaired t test and t value of > 0.001 was considered to be statistically significant. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that Pedometry along with Conventional Physiotherapy can have a dramatic impact on patients with COPD, increasing physical activity level and enhancing quality of life [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
