Pb(NO3)2 and Sr(NO3)2 belong to a family of isomorphous alkaline earth nitrates with cubic structure. In view of ever growing applications of these nitrate crystals in stimulated Raman scattering laser shifters, optical filters and birefringence, numerous investigations are carried out on their various physical properties. Sr(NO3)2 crystal is a promising crystal for coupled intra‐cavity Raman laser. From Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy Raman spectra of these crystals in the near IR region 400–4000 cm−1 at room temperature, are investigated. The results indicate that lead shifts the Raman dominating peaks to the lower frequency and broaden the full width at half maximum. Furthermore, lead is anticipated to improve the properties of Sr(NO3)2. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
