A Challenging Case of Falsely Elevated Free Thyroid Hormones.

Abstrakt: The article describes the case of a 73-year-old woman suffering from a right calcaneus fracture and which highlight falsely elevated free thyroid hormones. Topics covered include the characteristics of disorders of thyroid hormone transport (THS), the assays that measure TSH and the findings of the assays conducted to measure the patient's serum TSH, FT4 and FT3 concentrations. A description of the same interfering pattern observed on the patient's follow-up sample in January 2019 is presented.
