The article explores the work of screenwriter, director and actress Michaela Coel on her television series "I May Destroy You" about an English female writer who is drugged and raped by a stranger. It discusses the catalyzing experience of the series and Coel's similar experience, as well as her process of writing the series. It also describes the responses of viewers in Great Britain and the U.S. to the series. |
