Abstrakt: The current study aimed for the investigation of reproductive hormones levels that included estradiol, FSH, LH, and testosterone in beta-thalassemia major patients. The blood samples (5) ml were collected from (88) patients with betathalassemia major in AL Karama teaching hospital in Baghdad, Iraq from December 2018 to June 2019 and is divided into two groups, the first group consists of 44 beta-thalassemia major patients, the second group (44) consist of healthy individuals. All samples submitted to ELIZA test for calculation concentration of Estradiol, FSH, LH and Testosterone. The results, the male with beta-thalassemia major showed significant differences in Estradiol hormone concentration as compared with the control group, while the femaleswith beta-thalassemia major do not show any significant differences as compared with the control group. The males and females with beta-thalassemia major do not show significant differences in FSH hormone concentration as compared with the control group. The males with beta-thalassemia major do not show significant differences in LH hormone concentration as compared with the control group, while, the femaleswith beta-thalassemia major showed significant differences as compared with the control group. The malesand females with beta-thalassemia major are showed significant differences in Testosterone hormone concentration as compared with the control group. Finally, the estradiol hormone is decreased in males with beta major thalassemia and females with beta major thalassemia as compared with the control group. FSH hormone in males with beta major thalassemia and females with beta major thalassemia in increases little but no there a significant difference. No there changes in LH concentration in males with beta major thalassemia, while females with beta major thalassemia showed less than the normal value. Generally, the males and females with beta major thalassemia showed hypogonadism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
