Chapter Two extends research using the Personal Agents for Network Intelligence (PANI) platform. The PANI architecture is applied to allow naíve users to build their own telephony and datacom notification services. The services are built from self-describing service components that can be incorporated dynamically within the distributed PANI platform. This technology is designed to support a service economy in which service components are developed by independent third party developers; it is also particularly applicable for deploying services for mobile users.
