The new cohort was compared with a historical cohort of late FGR babies diagnosed with customised birth weight <10 SP th sp centile. The historical cohort had a significantly lower gestational age at delivery (38 weeks versus 38 weeks+6 days), lower birth weight 2439g versus 2591g, but similar gestational age at diagnosis, 31 weeks. A novel ultrasound evidence based management of late FGR babies using a conservative approach could improve neonatal outcome, at the expense of more interventions in labour.
