The objective of this work is to fabricate, test and employ a high-Tc superconductor based Micro-Electro-Mechanical (MEM) switch to change the tap position (open circuit termination to grounded termination) on a microstrip “T”-resonator structure. Changing the tap position transforms the characteristic notches to bandpass for different operating frequencies. This design has a resonant frequency of approximately 4 GHz with the tap position at the base of the “T”-resonator using Sonnet. The superconducting YBa2Cu3O7 and dielectric BaTiO3 were deposited on LaAlO3 (100) substrate by a pulsed laser deposition technique (PLD). The performance along with the advantages of a “T”-resonator will be discussed. Fabrication details and recent test results will be presented with simulation data. © 2004 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
