The article presents the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) in Texas as an illustration of how social marketing can increase consumer satisfaction. The article provides a review of literature on consumer satisfaction and an overview of the social marketing approach, and discusses the relations between consumers and product, price, place, and promotion. Also discussed are the program's problems such as having to endure long waiting times to receive food cards, and having to deal with rude grocery cashiers. |
