Abstrakt: An innovative leaky-wave antenna (LWA) for an indoor cellular mobile communications system has been conceived. It is designed to provide reliable services for a large number of users in large enclosed environments, such as shopping malls, sports areas, subways, concourses and so on. This antenna is suitable for an indoor communication environment in which the elliptical cells replace conventional circular cells, and the main radiation beam can be controlled easily. By changing the length (L) of the microstrip line between two slots, the desired scanning angle range can be achieved. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 24: 19–20, 2000.
