Extraction of Mo and U from HNO3 solutions with 0.2% solutions of higher hydroxamic acids (HA) in alcohols sparingly soluble in water was studied for production of 99Mo concentrate from LEU target solutions, and from 3% 235UO2. Batch extraction of 99Mo recovery was carried out using the caprinohydroxamic acid (DHA) dissolved in 20% decanol-1 with Isopar M in 3 steps: extraction, scrubbing and backwashing with autocatalytic thermo-chemical HA oxidizing destruction with HNO3 in combination with complexing 99Mo in aqueous phase by salt-free reagents. Mo total recovery was ~ 98%, while the smallest decontamination factors for 125I was 2 × 104 and ~ 106 for other nuclides. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
