Abstrakt: |
The purpose of this research was twofold. First we defined and conceptualized the construct of workplace hazing as a means of organizational socialization. Second, we developed a reliable and valid measure of hazing in the workplace in order to facilitate future research. Through a three-study scale development process, we created and validated a four- dimension scale that captures the range of hazing behaviors in organizational contexts. Overall, our research suggests that the Workplace Hazing Scale is a reliable and valid measure and that the workplace hazing construct has important implications for individuals and work groups.
