Abstrakt: Empirical research on the organizational commitment-performance link has been mixed, and in response, researchers have investigated the influence of context factors. However, very little research effort has focused on the psycho-contextual factors of this relationship, given that commitment is a psychological state. Drawing upon the industrial-organizational psychology literature and theory, we propose an integrative framework that highlights the importance of the psychological context. Specifically, we argue that the commitment-performance relationship would be (1) mediated by employee supervisor and work team commitments, (2) moderated by supervisor organizational commitment or embodiment and supervisor employee commitment, and (3) moderated by employee motivational state. Implications for theory and research directions are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
