The article offers tips for shock maintenance in racing automobiles. topics discussed include types of shocks involves twin-tube and gas-pressure, or monotube shocks; need to bent shafts to check for bends and shock would cause a side load to the piston rod and prematurely wear the O-ring and bushing in the closure nut; and bleed all of the pressure off the shock body by removing the core from the Schrader valve along with the removal of shaft and piston. |
