Abstrakt:	The article discusses Yoji Sakate's "Honchos Meeting in Cowra" and Mayu Kanamori's "Yasukichi Murakami--Through a Distant Lens," two Australia-Japan theatre productions that promote the non-mainstream histories of the Japanese in Australia. Topics covered include scholarship on the cultural diversity of theatre practice and Australian multiculturalism, representations of asylum seekers in Australia, and the history of Australian theatre and performance in relation to Asia.
