593 recruits, selected by the Italy's Military Health Authorities as healthy subjects, without dermatitis or ocular defects, underwent patch testing with Italian Research Group into Contact and Environmental Dermatitis (GIRDCA) series, as of October 1, 1990. 336 of them were also tested with 34 haptens, including dyes and ether substances used in textile manufacture. Finally, 351 recruits underwent a prick test with 8 major allergens. 52 subjects were found to sensitized to the GIRDCA series haptens. 72 positive results were observed. |
