The article discusses the mineralogy of the pegmatite such as beryl discovered at the Aldrich quarry in Stoneham, Oxford Hills, Portland, Maine. It states that beryl crystals are found in pegmatite and cavities and is the result of hydrothermal crystallization. It mentions that the pegmatites in Maine are the source of the finest gems in North America. |
