Abstrakt:	The article discusses a study of 5 patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia that had been successfully weaned using a 5-step weaning protocol. Topics discussed include the 5 step weaning protocol of successful weaning from PV in 5 children who lived at a pediatric long term extended care (P-LTEC) facility and the likelihood that an official protocol can be created and used for weaning P-LTCF residents from prolonged mechanical ventilation (PMV) with reasonable expectations of the process.
