This article seeks to explore the use of Amsterdam vernacular by women and men and to examine what extent the speech differences coincide with, or are influenced by the unequal functions and positions of women and men in society. A summary is presented on the analysis of the main variables of the sociolinguistic study. This design was used to assess the impact of sex relative to actually having children and the women being employed. |
