Abstrakt: The article discusses a study which evaluates the effectiveness of tricaine concentrations for larvae and juveniles of the freshwater fish Lophiosilurus alexandri. Findings reveal that all concentrations tested can be safely used as anaesthesia for classes II and III of the fish, but concentrations above 280 milligrams (mg) were not recommended for class I animals. The association between the animal weight and anaesthetic doses is also noted.
