Abstrakt: Objectives: To describe 3 cases of mucinous adenocarcinoma, an uncommon variant of prostatic adenocarcinoma, and review the literature.
Methods: 3 cases of mucinous adenocarcinoma of the prostate are described. The histological and immunohistochemical features, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of this variant of prostatic adenocarcinoma are presented and the literature briefly reviewed.
Results/conclusions: This variant of prostatic adenocarcinoma is characterized by the presence of extra and intracellular mucus formation. It is generally seen in the advanced stages and responds poorly to any form of therapy.
