Abstrakt: A phytopathogenic strain of Pectobacterium polaris (designated SRB2) was isolated for the first time in South Africa from a potato tuber affected by soft rot. The draft genome of strain SRB2 encodes various plant cell wall-degrading enzymes and genes associated with biofilm formation and virulence. Antibiotic resistance genes were not detected.
