Abstrakt: The Austrian research project Linked Care explored digitalization in mobile care, focusing on streamlining the medication process to save nursing staff time. A FHIR R5-based workflow was developed to support medication ordering by nurses, prescriptions by practitioners, and dispensing by pharmacies. Key FHIR resources were profiled and published in an HL7 Austria Member Implementation Guide (IG). The IG includes specifications and technical details for implementation and was the first member-contributed IG approved by the HL7 Austria FHIR community in early 2024. These specifications are now being implemented and will be tested in late 2024.
