Abstrakt: As NPs play an increasingly vital role in primary care, they must be well versed in a variety of conditions. Alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency is a respiratory disease for which there is particularly low awareness in both the nursing profession and the wider medical community. This article provides an overview of AAT deficiency and includes guidance for diagnosing the disease.
