Abstrakt: This pilot study compared the implementation of the innovative dedicated education unit (DEU) clinical model on quality of care with the traditional clinical model using missed nursing care as a quality indicator. A university and academic medical center partnered to conduct this quasiexperimental study, which is the first to use missed nursing care as a quality indicator when assessing transition to the DEU model. Evidence suggests that quality of care was maintained during DEU implementation.
