Many hospitals are large water users, and in some areas the possibility exists for a Health Authority to replace part or all of their mains water supplies by a private borehole supply. The reason for doing this is the considerable savings in mains water charges, which in some instances is such that the capital cost of the private supply can be offset in less than two years. However the feasibility of each scheme needs careful assessment. This paper considers the factors which affect the viability of such a scheme, and sets out how a private supply can be implemented. |
