Abstract: As has become a tradition, this year we will look back at the physical articles that were published last year in the Nature and Science journals. We start our overview by solving the mystery of the helium core radius. We will also get acquainted with acoustic measurement of the superconducting arrangement parameter, we will measure the gravitational force between bodies weighing less than 100mg, we will display molecular orbitals and atoms in nanoparticles. We will make a superlattice of nanocrystals, find that ferromagnetism of purely orbital origin has been observed in grafene, and explain the mysterious decrease in the brightness of the Betelgeuze star. Finally, via a sophisticated experiment, we will turn water into a conductor, prepare vortex rays and mention other interesting phenomena and discoveries. |
