Abstract: The case study describes the analyze of births in the catholic parish of Detva in the central Slovakia in the years 1781-1920. The research was established on the analyze church registers of baptisms. Researched population lived in the town of Detva, while the Bority of it occupied on the surrounding solitudes (lazy). Almost the entire population Hsisted from Catholics (98 %) and similarly dominant position of ethnicity had Slovaks (97%). The aim of study is to make a summary of development of births and the results to jmpare with another region of Austria-Hungary empire. |
