Investment banking and alternative asset management firm JMP Group Inc (NYSE:JMP) on Wednesday revealed a realignment in its senior management group and named Carter D Mack, Mark L Lehmann, Craig R Johnson and Kent Ledbetter to new positions.Former director of investment banking and co-president of the company’s broker-dealer subsidiary JMP Securities LLC, Mack takes over as president of JMP Group; director of equities and former co-president of JMP Securities,Lehmann becomes president of JMP Securities; former president of JMP Group, Johnson now assumes the duties of vice chairman of JMP Group and chairman of asset management subsidiary Harvest Capital Strategies LLC; and former director of corporate finance at JMP Securities, Ledbetter is now director of investment banking and is also named to JMP Group’s executive committee.Co-founder of JMP Group, director of investment banking since 1999 and president of JMP Securities since 2007, Mack is a director in the company’s board as well. Prior to founding JMP Group, Mack earlier was with Montgomery Securities, now Banc of America Securities. Before that he was with Merrill Lynch.Lehmann joined JMP Group in 2003 as director of equities, then became president of JMP Securities in 2007 and is a director on its board as well. Prior to JMP Group, Lehmann was at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray, Banc of America Securities and Montgomery Securities.Having joined JMP Group in 2002 and served as president of JMP Securities till 2007, Johnson then became president of JMP Group. Formerly, he was a founding member of Saw Island Asset Advisors that was acquired by Harvest Capital Strategies in 2003 and continues to be co-portfolio manager of the JMP Masters fund and also spent two decades at Montgomery Securities and its successor, Banc of America Securities.Ledbetter joined JMP Group in 2004 as a managing director and has served as JMP Securities’ head of real estate and lodging investment banking and as a director of corporate finance since 2007. Earlier he was in the real estate investment banking group at Lehman Brothers and at PaineWebber Incorporated. |
