In this article, the author discusses the role of Rosa Sparks from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) on the prosecution of rape of African American women. He mentions that Sparks' advocacy was revealed in the book "The Dark End of the Street," by Danielle McGuire, which includes the imprisonment of the rapists of African American Recy Taylor in 1944. Furthermore, he concludes that historians fail to write on Sparks' fight on rape due to the violence cases. |
