Abstrakt: The article presents a study which identifies the δ13C and δ15N variations of diet-vibrissae trophic discrimination factors (TDFs) in a wild sea otter population in California. The study shows the negative but significant relation of δ13C TDFs to sea urchin consumption. It points out that this pattern can also be related to the lipid-rich diet consumption of most sea otters.
