The article presents information on the appointment of several researchers and educationists in the field of life sciences in the U.S., and discusses several educational courses and grants offered in the U.S. Eli Lilly & Co. appointed Donald H. Ford as research adviser. Ronald W. Hart was appointed as the director of the National Center for Toxicological Research. Three short courses on digital electronics and microcomputers for scientists and chemical engineers will be offered at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in June 1980. The American Chemical Society (ACS) is offering grants ranging from $1500 to $4000 per year to assist small colleges in buying Chemical Abstracts and other ACS Abstracts Service publications. |
