The article discusses the author's experience of exploring the Mirador-Rio Azul National Park heading to the Maya site in El Mirador, Guatemala. He was accompanied by two experienced guides in the forests. As the director of the Wildlife Conservation Society program in the country, he narrates how he and his companions explore the place when signs of wildlife are being observed. After their expedition, he concluded that the site needs improvement to conserve its jaguars, tapirs, and peccaries. |
