Abstrakt: |
The article presents a study about the organismal, cellular and molecular impact of ultra-violet radiation on the metabolic rate and hatching of Orzias latipes, a Cichlid fish, in the vicinity of Princess Anne, Maryland. The study was conducted using a fertilized eggs of Orzias latipes and were exposed to a compartment with an environment chamber whose temperature was maintained at 23 degrees celsius and illuminated from a 40 watts cool white fluorescent bulbs. The study reveals that UVA has highly significant negative impact on hatching success in latipes. |
