A quasistatic nonlinear model for finite-strain poro-visco-elasticity is considered in the Lagrangian frame using Kelvin-Voigt rheology. The model consists of a mechanical equation which is coupled to a diffusion equation with a degenerate mobility.

A quasistatic nonlinear model for poro-visco-elastic solids at finite strains is considered in the Lagrangian frame using the concept of second-order nonsimple materials. The elastic stresses satisfy static frame-indifference, while the viscous stres

We investigate and clarify the mathematical properties of linear poro-elastic systems in the presence of classical (linear, Kelvin-Voigt) visco-elasticity. In particular, we quantify the time-regularizing and dissipative effects of visco-elasticity i

A covariant formulation of the virtual power principle based on Lie derivatives is proposed. The Lie covariant approach does not require an inner product and the Cauchy deformation tensor to start, but, at first order in a Galilean Euclidean setting,

Time-discrete numerical minimization schemes for simple visco-elastic materials in the Kelvin-Voigt rheology at high strains are not well posed because of the non-quasi-convexity of the dissipation functional. A possible solution is to resort to non-
