Simultaneous transport and scanning nanoSQUID-on-tip magnetic imaging studies in Cr-(Bi,Sb)$_2$Te$_3$ modulation-doped films reveal the presence of superparamagnetic order within the quantum anomalous Hall regime. In contrast to the expectation that

Quantized Hall conductance is a generic feature of two dimensional electronic systems with broken time reversal symmetry. In the quantum anomalous Hall state recently discovered in magnetic topological insulators, time reversal symmetry is believed t

The pre-melting of high vortex density planes observed recently in layered superconductors in tilted magnetic field is explained theoretically. Based on the structural information of the crossing lattices of pancake and Josephson vortices the effecti

We study the effect of uniaxial pressure on the magnetic hysteresis loops of the single-molecule magnet Mn_{12}-Ac. We find that the application of pressure along the easy axis increases the fields at which quantum tunneling of magnetization occurs.

We study the magnetic relaxation rate Gamma of the single-molecule magnet Mn_{12}-tBuAc as a function of magnetic field component H_T transverse to the molecule's easy axis. When the spin is near a magnetic quantum tunneling resonance, we find that G

We describe a new type of scanning probe microscope based on a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) that resides on the apex of a sharp tip. The SQUID-on-tip is glued to a quartz tuning fork which allows scanning at a tip-sample separa

Local magnetization hysteresis is among the most extensively studied features of high-temperature superconductors (HTSC). The usual source of hysteresis in superconductors is bulk vortex pinning due to material defects. Two additional known mechanism
